Finally, we were home. And we were in for a surprise. My mom, who owns the house, had furnished some of the rooms (most importantly the bedroom) and designed curtains for each room. The refrigerator and pantry had food basics and the bathroom had tons of toiletries. It was a great surprise.

The bathroom is spacious but not connected to master bedroom. One thing about that house I'd change

There is still a lot to be done. We're going to tile the kitchen and possibly do something about the weird bathroom situation. We are also in the midst of landscaping the front yard and haven't even begun thinking about the backyard. A home is a lot more work than an apartment! But I also feel so much more content and satisfied having all this space to call my own.
And I really enjoy the ongoing process of putting the house together. I've always loved interior design so it can be hard for me at times being on a limited budget. I'd love to have my way with Crate and Barrel and BAM the house look perfect instantly. But it's a slow process, and without a job, I'm learning to be patient.
It's cozy, it's a work in progress, and it's all ours.
